Migr8 User Help
Using WAP
Limitations of WAP
There are a few limitations when viewing your data and e-mail using
your WAP device. The key limitation is screen size, most devices
having a screen size of around 120x90 pixels. Because of this, viewing
large pieces of data may be impractical (if this is your main
objective then we recommend using a HandHeld PC or Laptop to
connect to Migr8). Pictures are not available to WAP users as there
is very little support across platforms.
Data Input on a WAP device is slow so we have aimed to
reduce the amount of key presses needed to view your information.
Please remember that searches are case sensitive!
Getting an internet connection
Opening a WAP Internet connection on your mobile phone is simple.
Your device should be configured by your network to connect. Many
phones have a hot key indicated by an 'i' OR '@' that will open
your WAP browser. If not the browser can usually be found as a Menu
option. Often called 'Internet, Services, etc.'
Logging into Migr8
The best way to log into Migr8 is to add a bookmark for Migr8. You
should have the URL http://migr8.com. Save the bookmark. Select the
bookmark, once loaded you will be prompted to enter your user name
and password. Your log in details may have been e-mailed to you or may have been given
to you by your company's Migr8 administrator. Remember Passwords
are case sensitive. If you have forgotten your password click
here.
Browsing Tables
When you have logged in you will be displayed a welcome note. Press
your options button and click 'Tables.' The list of tables that you
have permissions to view will be displayed under their groups.
Click on the table you wish to access. This now displays the search
form you can use to select the appropriate data.
Making a search
The search form is a list of fields that you can select and assign a
value to. For example, if I was searching for a UK postcode in
Slough, I would select the link to the Town field. I can enter
Slough into the Town field and press 'OK.' I can then return to the
form where I could use another field to narrow my search or press
'Search.'
My search for Slough has returned One result. I click on
the result which displays the content of my record. By clicking
back I can return to the results.
Picking up e-mail
To pick up your e-mail, you should first make sure that e-mail is configured for your company. You should check this with your company's master user. You will need to login into your preferences page
using a HandHeld PC or Laptop/Desktop to input your e-mail user name
and password.
Once set up you can log into Migr8 press the Options button and
e-mail. Your e-mails will be listed.
NOTE: If you have other email programs (such as Outlook) picking up email, ensure that they are configured to leave a copy on the server otherwise Migr8 will not be able to pick up these emails.
Click on an e-mail to reveal its contents. Pictures and formatting
are removed from e-mails for compatibility.
